Martin qualified in dentistry at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990. He worked in various dental disciplines at the Dental Hospital and at regional hospitals in posts including house officer, senior house officer and registrar before joining the postgraduate orthodontic masters course in Cardiff in 1994.
Martin worked in general dental practice to gain experience of a practice environment and, after successfully completing his specialist training in 1997, he set up the North Cardiff Orthodontic Centre in 1998.
NCOC gained the continued support of referring dentists in South East Wales and continues to the area’s under-18s with NHS orthodontics.
Together with his business partner and fellow specialist orthodontist Justin Evans Martin established Embrace in 2016 to meet the growing demand for private adult orthodontics.
They founded the children’s private orthodontics clinic Crocodile the same year, offering more choice and convenience to children and young people in need of orthodontic care.
